Allied Muffler of Bellflower was established 1952 and was at one time one of five "Allied Mufflers" owned by the same man. September 1st 1973 my father purchased the business, the last remaining Allied Muffler, from the second owner.
I started here as a teenager eager to learn the trade, that was over 30 years ago. In 1988 I took over the operation of the business full time with the help of one employee enjoyed early success as major changes in the performance market in California were happening.
Since those early years there have been many ups and downs in the exhaust business, the major one being factory stainless steel exhaust. This steadily brought on a decline in the need for replacement mufflers and pipes, thus the need to find something to keep busy with and apply my skills. In 2005 we started selling exhaust tips online, then came fabricated exhaust kits we make in-house, and soon to be moving in to full cat-back systems. The industry, while still similar to what is was many years ago, is always evolving, so must we to survive.
